It strips away our communities name and also disrespects our people past and present who have deep roots in DARTMOUTH. I know there are several ‘communities’ that make up the HRM and we are a part of the greater Halifax but if the tables were turned I am very sure that HALIFAX would not stand for their name being removed from their signage at their local historical sites and parks and replaced with DARTMOUTH. IT SHOULD SAY “Halifax Region” somewhere on the sign along with the communities name remaining front and center.
